MVA/CVIM Special Session for Doctoral Theses (CLOSED)
This joint special session with IPSJ CVIM provides an opportunity to students who are close to finishing, or who have recently finished, their doctoral degree to present their research and to have discussion with other conference participants.
Presentation
The participating student will give a 30-minute presentation, including Q&A. (The allotted time may change subject to the number of participants.)
Paper
The participating student must prepare a paper substantially describing his/her thesis (16 pages maximum in a format similar to MVA paper format), which will be published in the proceedings of the IPSJ CVIM.
The copyright of the paper must be transferred to IPSJ. The deadline for the paper will be in April.
Eligibility
Ph.D. students in machine vision and related areas who will defend their Ph.D. theses by the end of March 2015, or those who have finished their Ph.D. since April 2014.

in one pdf file a one-page summary introducing the applicant and his/her research, also stating the graduation date, and a note from their advisor agreeing to the presentation and the publication as well as confirming the date of graduation.
Travel award
There is no travel award specifically for this special session. Students who are also presenting a paper at MVA2015 may be eligible for MVA travel grants.
